“Durand Area Schools is a Model District Where Students Want to Be”

Message from the Superintendent

Welcome back to the 2013-14 school year.  I am looking forward to another exciting year in Durand Schools.

First of all, and most importantly, I would like to thank our community for passing the two millage proposals we had on the ballot in August.  It was through the hard work and dedication of our parent committee, that helped get the word out and explain how important the passage of these proposals were to the district, that made the difference.  We are truly appreciative of the support.

Like most districts in the state we continue to face financial pressures. We have had to make tough decisions in the past and tough decisions again this year.  One decision we made, to save money, is the elimination of the Inside Track in the Independent on a weekly basis.  Periodically we will publish information in the Independent and once a month look for us on Sunday in the Argus Press.

Visit our website and Facebook page for the most up-to-date information on what is happening in the schools and for event schedules.  If you cannot find what you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate school, department or my office for assistance.  We will be happy to answer your questions.

Sincerely,

Cindy Weber

Superintendent of Schools
