Online Academic Center

Durand Online Academic Center, created to help meet the needs of students who were not experiencing success in the traditional high school setting. Most students come to DOAC because they are falling behind in credits, have attendance problems, or both. The DOAC is a small learning community that offers a smaller class size, allowing students more one-on-one time with the teacher. The Durand Online Academic Center currently offers its classes through the online program Compass Learning-Odyssey. Each student's progress is individually monitored by staff to ensure personal success. All students that complete the graduation credit requirements receive a high school diploma from Durand Area Schools. Parents, Counselors, or Administrators may refer students to the DOAC program. Students and parents must meet with Mrs. Knapp, DHS Principal, before being accepted into the program.

Staffing for DOAC includes teachers Mr. Rob Milton and Mrs. Tammy Collins as well as Paraprofessional Mrs. Rhonda Hildreth, all of whom work together with administrators and counselors to provide students with a safe, structured learning environment.

Technology is readily available to all students. The DOAC classroom provides desktop and laptop computers to assist students in meeting their online curriculum.
