STEM/ART Teacher

STEM teacher will be responsible for developing learning activities and hands-on material, tending to individual student needs, and communicating regularly with parents.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate grade level endorsement K-5 all subjects.

  2. Highly Qualified to teach K-5 as per Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements.

 ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATIONS:

  1. Degree in a STEM field

  2. State teaching license relevant in the field.

  3. Knowledge of STEM best practices.

  4. Empathy and great interpersonal skills.

  5. Excellent written and verbal communication.

  6. Proficiency with basic computer software such as Word and Excel.

  7. Experience working with children and adolescents. Previous experience as a STEM teacher will be advantageous.

  8. Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building collegial relationships with students, parents, and colleagues 

  9. Ability to differentiate instruction for students of varying abilities while maintaining high academic rigor and expectations for all students

  10. Demonstrate strong classroom management skills with the use of positive behavior interventions

  11. Demonstrate professional work habits and conduct consistent with the ethics of the profession

  12. Willingness to supervise or direct student activities

  13. Complies with School Board policies and all state/federal rules and regulations.  

  14. Completes all district and state reporting requirements.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

  1. Salary and benefits in accordance with the Master Agreement between the Durand Area Schools Board of Education and the Durand Education Association.

Substitute Bus Driver Apply Online

SUBSTITUTE SCHOOL BUS DRIVER
 
Substitute bus drivers work on an as-needed basis. 

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Applicant must be minimum 21 years old with at least 5 years driving experience.
  • Ability to secure and maintain required licenses and certifications through the State of Michigan (CDL with B, P, and S endorsements). All fees and training will be paid by the District for qualified candidates, subject to continued successful employment.
  • Must pass a physical examination including random drug testing, demonstrating mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to maintain order and safety among students on the bus, communicating clearly and in a positive manner.
  • Criminal background check including fingerprinting required.
Rate of Pay:   $16.27./hour for regular runs. $15.03/hour extra trip driver (includes layover time). Pay rate may be adjusted based upon experience as a school bus driver.
