Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicant must be minimum 21 years old with at least 5 years driving experience.
  • Ability to secure and maintain required licenses and certifications through the State of Michigan (CDL with B, P and S endorsements). Will consider training qualified candidates who do not already possess a CDL.
  • Must pass a physical examination including drug testing, demonstrating mental/physical ability and stamina for meeting the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to maintain order and safety among students on the bus, communicating clearly and in a positive manner.

 

Rate of Pay:   Per DESPA Contract

 

Hours:   Approximately 5 (five) hours per day               

 

Monday - Friday while school is in session.

  • Assist student participation within the daily classroom routine
  • Provide group and/or individualized guided practice with classroom tasks, when needed, under the direction of the teacher
  • Facilitate self-directed learning and independence for students within the general education setting

Qualifications:

  • Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours); or obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or successful completion of the MTTC Basic Skills or WorkKeys (prior to 7/1/2016) or ETS Parapro Assessment (see attached information)
  • Show evidence of good health
  • Self-directed individual
  • Ability and willingness to work with professional teaching staff
  • Strong verbal/language and mathematics skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds of weight

Rate of Pay:  $10.82/hour
