Athletic Director/Community Enrichment Coordinator

ATHLETIC DIRECTOR/COMMUNITY ENRICHMENT COORDINATOR

 

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Education or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership in public relations
  • Knowledge of athletics, performance evaluations, budgeting, staffing, employee relations and the general planning and administration of district or state tournaments, game rules, eligibility, by-laws and regulations
  • Must be able to tactfully engage a broad range of stakeholders, support District efforts to foster a positive co-curricular experience for all students, and serve as an integral part of the District’s administrative team
 

  Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all students participating in athletic activities meet school requirements for eligibility as well as the requirements of the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA)
  • Adhere to all aspects of rules, policies, and procedures held by the MHSAA, as well as the Mid Michigan Activities Conference, and ensure that all coaches within the program do the same
  • Maintain and support all policies within Durand Area Schools and the Durand Athletic Handbook, and ensure that all coaches follow the guidelines outlined within
  • Schedule all athletic contests, issue contracts in accordance with MHSAA policies
  • Arrange proper transportation/facilities required for athletic teams
  • Secure and employ officials and volunteers in accordance with policies of the MHSAA, MMAC and Durand Area Schools
  • Supervise, hire and evaluate all personnel working with the middle/high school athletic program
  • Assist with budgeting and financial planning of the athletic program
  • Receive and process requisitions for equipment and supplies submitted by coaches according to District procedure; maintain an inventory list of all equipment
  • Attend all MMAC meetings related to athletics and ensure that coaches attend all meetings required by the district, conference, or MHSAA
  • Attend, direct and supervise events associated with Durand Area Schools athletic programs
  • Publish schedules and maintain complete records of the results of all high school athletic contests
  • Maintain Durand Athletic Handbook
  • Coordinate facility usage throughout the District
  • Develop and facilitate community enrichment programs, classes, and activities that meet the cultural, social, recreation, education, and health needs of the Durand Area Schools community
  • Responsible for recruiting, selecting, supervisory, and evaluation of all staff members working with community enrichment
  • Coordinate the development of the District’s website calendars, brochures, catalogs, etc. for community enrichment activities
  • Maintain community enrichment budget, receipt of funds, payment for instruction/supplies
  • Assist in Supervision of Durand High School
  • Attend school board meetings as needed
  • Assume all other duties as assigned by the building principal or superintendent
 

Rate of Pay: $40,000 - $45,000 (Dependent on Qualifications & Experience) Annual Salary
