Online Academic Center
Durand Online Academic Center (DOAC) was created to meet the needs of students struggling with a traditional high school setting. Students may be candidates for DOAC for various reasons, but often, it is due to lost credits. Our DOAC is a small learning community that offers a smaller class size and allows more individualized interventions for students. The Durand Online Academic Center offers classes through an online platform called Edgenuity. Each student's progress is individually monitored by staff to ensure personal success. All students that complete the graduation credit requirements receive a high school diploma from Durand Area Schools. Parents, counselors, or administrators may refer students to the DOAC program. Students and parents must meet with the building principal and/or counselor before being accepted into the program.
DOAC is staffed by a certified high school teacher and a paraprofessional for support. The staff works with administrators and counselors to provide students with a safe, structured learning environment.
Technology is readily available to all students. The DOAC classroom provides Chromebooks to assist students in meeting their online curriculum.
